CLINICS AND SHOWS

BER hosts several clinics each year, educating both dressage and hunter-jumper riders. Clinics are instructed by qualified individuals. Members are notified of riding clinics through the newsletter, and spots are filled on a first-come, first served basis. Your registration and check will reserve your spot in a clinic.

Two or three horse shows are held each summer in Bismarck. BER follows USA Equestrian rules (formerly known as AHSA) with some exceptions. If you plan to keep your horse overnight, the Walt Neuens Memorial Horse Park has comfortable horse accommodations on-site.

BER members are able to qualify for year-end awards. They may also use points from BER-approved shows. To qualify, one show must be BER-managed. Memberships must be paid before the first show in order to qualify.

BER also offers a Qualified Rider Medal Awards Program, which is designed to recognize consistent work of horse and rider teams in dressage. Qualifying scores may be accumulated over several years.

You do NOT need to be a member of BER to ride your horse in a clinic or show. If you would like to receive clinic information, show bills, entry forms and rules, please contact Marylu to be added to our database.

You also do NOT need to be a member of the Bismarck English Riders to enjoy horses or volunteer your time! Our club is always looking for willing bodies to open and close gates, hand out ribbons and “work” other necessary functions at shows. If you would like to help out at a clinic or show, please contact Marylu.
